I am an artist located in the Phoenix metro area of Arizona. I was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in Deming, New Mexico. While in high school, I began to realize that art was something I enjoyed and was good at. It wasn't until college that I decided to pursue an occupation related to the arts. It was in college that I received most of my formal training as an artist.
In New Mexico I attended WNMU, which allowed me to enjoy all the benefits of a smaller college. As a student I primarily worked as a photorealist using the airbrush. The study of photorealism still has an impact on my present artwork. Throughout the years I have explored different media and techiques, but attention to detail is still always present in my paintings.
Presently, I am employed as a high school art teacher in Phoenix, working with inner city youth. Art education has played an important role in my life, and I strongly believe in its benefits. Art trainings, classes and programs have been and still are part of my profession, and are of great importance to me as an artist, student, and instructor.
